Celebrity caricature: Halloween edition – Edgar Allen Poe
Boo! The trick or treaters are almost at your door… Are you ready to dole candy out to all those little ghosts and goblins? Personally I love me some peanut butter cups, kettle corn and caramel apples!
I’ve been trying to teach our 1 1/2 year old to say “trick or treat” but he’s still working on his ABCs. This year he is Linus from the comic Peanuts – apparently this isn’t as much of a cultural touchstone as I presumed, since we have been getting befuddled looks from people at the Halloween parties we’ve attended so far. Fair enough. I just got him a red shirt and drew black stripes on it for his costume. (The most popular costume for boys seems to be Iron Man, by the by.)
This week I got into the spirit of things with a Halloween themed celebrity caricature. Thanks for the suggestion, Becky! Why is Edgar Allen Poe in a shark costume? That is something you, my friend, will need to answer for yourself. All I know is that Mr. Poe is wand’ring weak and weary to find his next candy fix. This was sketched with a ball point pen on paper then coloured and finished in Photoshop with my Bamboo Pen & Touch tablet.
